welcome to the newakeeba

We are thrilled to introduce our new branding, one that better reflects the spirit of our company. You will start to see these changes reflected on our social media, components, and website in the coming months.

A lot has changed in 11 years. We've gone from offering one single, simple product (remember JoomlaPack?) to offering a whole array of products, with different purposes and across multiple platforms.

the old akeeba logo Throughout it all, we've kept the same familiar Akeeba Backup logo, both for the product you know and love, as well as for the company itself. The clamp symbolized holding your environment safe, and the J from Joomla! because that was the only platform we supported at the time.

As we've grown, our purpose and audience have matured, and we thought it was time our brand reflected that.

While Akeeba Backup for Joomla! (and Akeeba Backup for WordPress, and Akeeba Solo) will always be a big part of what we do, it's no longer all we do.

we are going #beyondbackups

This is more than just a logo refresh. We felt it's time to better reflect where we've been...and remove limits from where we're going.

the new brand

akeeba

The new brand is sleeker, using a modern sans-serif font. In the first letter "a" there is an arrow, symbolizing the fulfillment of tasks and the completion or automation of things that must be done repeatedly for maintenance.

The teal arrow in the "k" is a symbol familiar to developers everywhere: the opening code bracket. We are, after all, a developer-run company, from creating the products to answering all the support requests ourselves (instead of outsourcing). To us, the bracket symbolizes the beginning of something — and after 11 years, we're just getting started.

polished product logos

Most of our product logos will remain familiar, with just slight changes to make them consistent with our new visual style. You can see the old and the new logos below, just to compare.

thank you

Without you, the people who have supported us, believed in us, and reported all our bugs to us since the beginning, we would not have grown this far. Thank you for the journey, and we can't wait to see what the future holds. Here's to the next 11 years!
